RP Rules
1. Rules By Divison:
- Normal matches outside of divisions have a 4K word limit (while soft, we discourage from going over 4.5K).
- World Title matches allow for 2 RPs with a combined word cap of 6K (again, try not to exceed this limit).
- Intercontinental matches follow a standard 4k limit with 1 promo per show (unless otherwise stated).
- Tag Team Matches have a 4K limit per team. Each member is expected to write a promo for the match; however, a team may also write one in tandem if they work best that way (so long as it meets the cap limit).
- New Blood matches will take place weekly and have a 2.5k hard cap word limit. The same goes with New Blood contendership matches. Going past this hard cap results in an automatic loss.
- Our Ronin division is a mixture of comedy, experimentation and absurdity; as such, Ronin matches are mostly low card matches (or dark matches w/ no entrance) with a hard word cap of 1K. Exceeding this is an automatic loss.
2. On the day of a Deadline, do not post two RPs within 12 hours of each other (if stipulations allow it). We all hate sandbagging.
3. Weekly Deadline Sunday 9 pm eastern time (US). Shows will post around 9 to Midnight the following Monday.
- If you cannot meet a deadline please contact "The Master" before posting time. I am lenient, but more so, speaking to me via pm prevents the boards from being clogged with extension requests and other private responses.
Provision R - Anyone that has multiple no shows without speaking to management might appear in Ronin Division contests.
4. No Plagiarism (This will result in an instant ban!)
5. Please post all RPs on the actual RP boards. We strongly discourage external sites used for RPs.
6. You are your own soul. No one can tell you what sort of character to pursue as we encourage all forms of expression and lifestyle. Be advised: "Burying" or disregarding someone because they annoy or anger you is not grounds for a good promo. Shoot but don't shoot down the hard work of your peers. This place only works if we agree to work together.
- Also note that storylines may or may not involve you. Be patient with our bookers because we cannot make everyone a champion. Use that allure of the brass ring as grounds to improve your person and writing, ask lots of questions and ask for feedback whenever possible. I want everyone to enjoy their time in NBW. We cannot do that without a team environment.
- I am here and always listening to the feedback from membership. Don't be shy; drop a message my way or to our helpful mods.
Judging Basics:
- Content wins over word count. Brevity being the wit of the soul: a well-written promo with creative backing will go further than twenty block paragraphs with no air between. Strive for completeness, balance and direction (consider that our model of success). Edit as if writing to coworkers or superiors because if we cannot understand your writing it hurts your character's impact. Lastly, be selective with your language: 300 fucks does not equal greatness. Strong derogatory language or slurs will not be tolerated - and may be grounds for a warning from our mods or myself.
- We are objective with every matchup. Favoritism kills even the best of feds.
- Please be discrete in protesting results. Contact "The Master" for inquiries to losses, ect. DO NOT SPAM OUR BOARDS with complaints over our decisions. Everyone involved with judging has been here before. We see and recognize weekly efforts. Try your best and it is likely to result in success. If not, you'll miss the whole journey of a character if you let one L define them.
