Ronin Puroresu Championship
"Sumo" Match
"Sumo" Match
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The lighting dims down, the crowd at Yokohama Arena respectfully hushing as the BloodTron 4000 plays an intro for Monday, Bloody Monday, featuring the previous iteration of New Blood Wrestling, and then transitioning to NBPW's Jubeilation PPV, and all that happened within it. The intro ends with all of the new champions, including the controversial Killa Kai and Corey Bull, standing tall. Once the New Blood Puroresu-Wrestling logo shows, the lighting returns to normal, smoke and fireworks bursting throughout the stage!
St. Remi: Welcome everybody to the returning Monday, Bloody Monday! We have some new talent, as well as our returning talent from last week's success that was Jubeilation competing here tonight!
Sara Conway: We'll be revealing all of the new championships tonight as well! This card is stacked, and so is our roster.
The sparkling sounds of “New Eden” by Animals as Leaders trickles through the arena. The riff hits, and Jason Zurra, along with Roku Xete, make their way to the stage, Roku holding a peculiar looking briefcase. The crowd is cheering in anticipation!
Oda Niko: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome… Xete Roku, and the commissioner of New Blood Puroresu, JASOOON ZUUUURRAAAAAA!
St. Remi: Wow! We didn't even get time to announce the matches. I wonder what's going on.
Sara Conway: I'm not sure, but it seems like they're waiting on someone.
Jason and Roku wait patiently until “Misirlou” by Dick Dale hits the PA System, and Lance Walker makes it to the stage as well, standing beside Jason Zurra. They each make their way down to ringside.
Oda Niko: and accompanying them, the head trainer for New Blood Puroresu, LANCE WALKERRR!
Roku and Lance aid Jason up to the ring. Once in, the black shirts get chairs from ringside, and set them up for their higher ups. Jason and Lance are given mics as well. Jason is the first to hold the mic up near his lips.
Jason(in Japanese): Welcome everybody to Monday, Bloody Monday! We have a lot of wrestling to get to, but before we do that, I would like to show you all something very special!
Lance: I don't know Japanese, but I am very excited to be beside Jason in showing you all this gorgeous creation.
Roku hands Jason the briefcase.
Jason(in Japanese): Last week, at Jubeilation, three people earned an opportunity at the Ronin Puroresu Championship. Tonight, we find out who that is. That fierce competitor…
Jason opens the briefcase, revealing the brand new Ronin Puroresu Championship. A thick Gi belt, with an expensive looking front plate to give the belt potential prestige.
Jason: … will earn this, and wear it around their waist.
The crowd cheers in excitement and anticipation!
St. Remi: That’s quite a belt for such a lowly division. The Bum Fight belt was just a piece of cardboard. The difference is night and day!
Sara Conway: It’s obvious that the Ronins are being held at high regard. Hopefully, this match will show improvement, compared to last week.
Lance: Now, alongside Nozomi Zurra and ZiiX, I have spent this entire week training all three of these competitors. As everyone knows, there are a couple added stipulations to this match.
Jason(in Japanese): The Master requested this match be a Sumo Competition. Now, as none of these competitors fit the weight class of a sumo, I decided to make some changes to the traditional competition. The Ronins will be in their Gi uniforms, and there will be no pinfalls or submissions. The only way to win is to throw your opponents over the top rope, with both feet touching the floor.
Lance: To make things more interesting, my son Vincent Walker has offered to defend the UCI Television Championship in order to qualify for this contest. If he does not show up, he will be disqualified from the match, and will not be able to win the Ronin Championship.
Jason(in Japanese): So, without further ado, let us get out of their way, so we find out who will become the Inaugural Ronin Puroresu Champion!
The crowd cheers loudly as Roku and Lance help Jason back to his chair on the outside. Black shirts come in to put the chairs away.
Sara Conway: I wonder if Vince will show up?
St. Remi: I doubt it. He seems like a flake, bro.
"Pelicans We" hits the PA system as Captain Pelican aimlessly wanders to the stage. He gives the crowd the fish eye as he makes his way down the ramp, looking through his binoculars while the black shirts keep the crowd from touching him. Pelican picks on some black shirts on his way down.
Oda Niko: From... wherever the wind blows... weighing in at 275 lbs, he is CAPTAIIIN PELICAAAN!
Pelican slowly rolls into the ring and circles around, until he finally decides to carefully climb up the turnbuckle. He looks through the binoculars again, and then hits them as if they're broken, before slowly stepping down and staying near the corner.
Sara Conway: I… still don’t really understand how Pelican got into this match. I was actually more impressed with Sphinx.
St. Remi: Pelican outsmarted most of the other Ronins, and made Jubei laugh in the process. If anything, he’s the most qualified out of all three of these guys!
Sara Conway: Did you see what Vince and Stevo did?
St. Remi: Welsh wouldn’t have pulled any of that off without Vince, and they almost messed up multiple times, even though the whole thing look rehearsed!
The BloodTron4000 shows highlights of Stevo's career in and out of wrestling, as “Edge of Soul” plays through the PA system. The riff begins, and his mask logo pops up, enticing the crowd. The word "GO" is heard, and the Great Stevo burst to the stage, wearing a traditional Gi, as well as his trademark mask. He goes from one side of the stage to the other, attempting to pump up the crowd before he makes his way down the ramp. He makes sure to high five as many fans as possible on his way down.
Oda Niko: Making his way to the ring, from Anaheim California. Weighing in at 140lbs, he is the GREAT STEVOOO!
Stevo makes it to ringside and looks to the crowd. He pumps his fists up to them before turning and quickly sliding into the ring. He goes up to the top rope and gives the crowd a thumbs up before backflipping to the center of the ring, stumbling a bit as he lands. He collects himself and goes over to the corner, preparing for the match.
Sara Conway: Well, look who it is! Remi, argue all you want, but Stevo and Vince pulled off an impressive performance that involved incredible strength, balance, acrobatics, and chemistry. They both earned their opportunity.
St. Remi: Either way, it’s time to find out if Vincent Walker is a flake, or if he has the guts to put one title on the line to possibly fight for two titles!
“No Quarter” by Led Zeppelin plays through the PA. The song plays for a bit, but Vincent doesn't appear. The song stops. The camera cuts to Lance, who's visibly concerned.
St. Remi: I told you! He's a flake!
Sara Conway: I wonder why he's not-- wait. We're hearing about something going on outside of the arena. Lance and Roku have both ran to find out what’s going on.
The camera is showing multiple black shirts and Ikeda members running to the outside. Roku and Lance eventually catch up, once everyone else makes it outside. The camera pans by the arena wall, where Vincent is being pinned against the wall by Allen. Before any of the NBPW staff can help Vince, Terra Walker suddenly appears and pulls Allen off, pushing him towards the staff. Roku grips Allen by the throat, and Lance checks on Vince.
Lance: Son! Are you alright? Can you fight?
Vince grunts a bit. He’s bleeding, and has a black eye.
Roku(in Japanese): I’m taking you the hell out of here!
As Roku, along with some black shirts and Ikeda, escort Allen away from the premises, Vincent begins walking back to the arena.
Lance: Vince, wait! Let the doctors help you!
Vince pushes the cameraman away, and the feed cuts.
St. Remi: Well… that escalated quickly.
Sara Conway: Ladies and gentlemen… I think Vincent is making his way here!
After a few moments, “No Quarter” by Led Zeppelin hits the PA System again. The rif kicks in, and a bloody and bruised Vincent Walker limps his way to the arena, carrying the UCI Television Title in his hand. Lance is behind him, checking up on him, but Vince ignores him. He makes his way down the ramp with fierce intent, high fiving the fans along the way, making sure to wipe his hands on his attire afterwards.
Oda Niko: Their opponent, from Oxford, England, weighing in at 66 kilos. Carrying the UCI Television Champion, he is “Biographer” VINCEEENT WALKEEERRR!
Vincent carefully limps up the step ladder, and wipes his feet before making it to the ring. He raises the UCI TV Title, some fans throwing streamers his way. He tries to catch one, but misses. He shrugs and gives the belt to the referee.
Sara Conway: Vincent Walker has made it to the building, but he’s in pretty rough shape. Can he manage to overcome the obstacles in his path?
St. Remi: He better, if he wants to keep that TV belt, and become the Ronin Puroresu Champ!
Lance is talking with Jason, looking a bit desperate. It takes a minute before they come to an agreement. Jason goes to the timekeeper, who eventually rings the bell. Captain Pelican immediately rolls out of the ring, leaving Vince and Stevo eye to eye.
St. Remi: See, bro? This is the intelligence I’m talking about! Captain Pelican wants to turn friends into foes, giving him the advantage!
Sara Conway: Let’s see how well his plan works out.
Vince and Stevo stare each other down for a moment before shaking hands. They back up, Stevo slowing his pace down for Vincent, before they lock up. Vincent struggles to get to a strong base, Stevo eventually pushing him to the corner, and instantly trying to get him over the top rope. Vince clings to the rope and manages to get Stevo off of him, hobbling back to a vertical base. Pelican trips Vince up, taking him down. Stevo rolls out of the ring and confronts Pelican.
St. Remi: Rookie mistake. He had the perfect chance to eliminate Vincent there!
Stevo and Pelican have a bit of a confrontation before Stevo pushes Pelican to the ground. Pelican gives him a wild look before getting up, and running after him. They go on a wild goose chase before eventually both making it back to the ring. Pelican somehow catches Stevo and starts throwing haymakers at him before Vince recovers and throws him over the top rope.
St. Remi: IS HE OUT!?
Sara Conway: No! He’s just barely hanging on!
Vince and Stevo lock up again, and Vince takes advantage this time, catching him in a headlock, and hitting a takeover. Lance goes to the apron and starts yelling at Vincent.
Lance: What do you think you’re doing, you donut!?
Vincent: What?
Lance: Eyes everywhere. Like a graceful halibut.
Vince looks at Pelican, who’s back inside the ring. Vince rolls himself and Stevo up to a vertical base and pushes Stevo towards Pelican, who tackles Stevo, and throws more haymakers. Vince pulls Pelican up, but Pelican pushes him to the turnbuckle. Vincent lands awkwardly, and crumbles to the mat. Stevo hits some strikes to Pelican, hits the ropes, and catches Pelican with an enziguri.
St. Remi: Now this is getting interesting!
Sara Conway: Pelican's in trouble!
Stevo springboards off the second rope, but Pelican quickly runs and throws Stevo's feet over, taking him over the top and out of the ring.
Oda Niko: The Great Stevo has been eliminated!
The crowd boos at first, but eventually give Stevo a round of applause for his efforts.
Sara Conway: Jason is in disbelief!
St. Remi: It's down to Walker and Pelican!
Pelican grabs a prone Vincent Walker, and starts to pick him up. Vince suddenly reverses him and hits a clumsy fisherman suplex to the corner.
Sara Conway: Catch a Bloke! He hit him!
St. Remi: He's going to the opposite corner!
Vincent hobbles to the corner, and has Pelican in his sights. Pelican stumbles, and Vince charges, and goes for a Busaiku Knee, but Pelican drops and rolls, Vince hitting his knee on the top turnbuckle before falling on his back.
St. Remi: He's lucky he didn't land on his head or neck!
Sara Conway: Pelican is heading up the middle rope!
St. Remi: HIGH TIDE!
Vincent just barely gets his knees up, but it costs him. He savors his left leg as he attempts to make it to his feet. He struggles to pick up Captain Pelican, and collapses once again, Pelican landing hard himself.
Sara Conway: These two are giving it their all! Who will be victorious?
St. Remi: I don’t know if either of them have it in them!
Vincent tries once more to make it to his feet, but Pelican grabs his bad leg. Vince blindly hits some elbows, and one catches Pelican’s nose. He starts yelling and swearing, the words being audio blocked. Pelican goes to the corner and checks on his nose, but Vincent just barely gets up and takes advantage.
Sara Conway: Unlucky Sod! He hits it!
St. Remi: Damn! Pelican’s bleeding!
Vincent savors his knee heavily while he gets up. He goes to Pelican, who’s leaning on the turnbuckle, and tries to pick him up once more. He just barely gets Pelican over the top rope, but he just barely lands on the apron. Vince takes advantage of Pelican’s sloppiness, and headbutts him, making him fall to the floor.
*DING DING DING!*
“No Quarter” by Led Zeppelin plays, the fans throwing more streamers toward Vincent. Auron and team make their way to Pelican, to make sure he’s okay.
Oda Niko: Your winner, and NEWWWW Ronin Purerosu Champion, VINCEEENT WALKEEERRR!!!
St. Remi: I… I can’t believe that kid just won.
Sara Conway: Believe it, Remi! Vincent Walker is the Inaugural Ronin Purerosu Champion!
Lance goes over to Vincent and bear hugs him as more streamers are thrown, the black shirts desperately trying to clean up the mess. Lance gives Vincent the Ronin belt, and raises his arm high before the feed fades to commercial.
