ESPN “Off The Top Rope” w/ Jonathan Coachman Featuring Andre Aquarius
I know what you’re thinkin’. We only four weeks in, so how did ya boi get that exclusive wit’ The Coach? This ain’t ‘bout #EnBeeDub, this ‘bout ya boi. See, when you a GAWD damn icon, they be chompin’ at the bit to get dat interview. They asked Kunta for that exclusive and I gave’em one demand...and that was my nigga JC gettin’ the honor to speak to the greatest black athlete since Ali just days before he becomes this fed’s first EVER True Grit champ.
JC: Three and zero and making HUGE waves in the world of professional wrestling. He goes by many nicknames and will be competing Monday night for the right to call himself a champion for the first time in his career. We are pleased to welcome Andre Aquarius right now on Sportscenter! Now, I’ve gotta ask, after a tenures in a handful of companies, what is it that feels different about New Blood Wrestling that makes it feel like a good fit for you?
Andre: Thanks for havin’ me on, JC. Real talk wit’ ya bro, it’s a few things actually. What I saw wit’ this was an opportunity at the franchise spot I know I warrant and the pool of competition be gettin’ them juices flowin’.
JC: Would you say the competition is tougher here?
Andre: Nah, not at all. Fightin’ ME is tough, not the other way around. The big thing to me is the blend’uh them vets and prospects. If I’m not knockin’ ‘round someone wit’ a name people recognize, I’m absolutely embarassin’ the hopefuls. That’s what’s happened up to this point and it’s what finna continue to happen, Coach.
JC: Again, you were able to win your first three matches and are turning a lot of heads between the victories and promo work, but the big question..what’s your mindset ahead of Monday?
Andre: My mindset been the same. This ain’t just three and zero, it’s me taking that first true accolade, somethin’ that finna be the first big step in the greatest career in sports history.
JC: SPORTS history? Wow..big claims we’re hearing right now and it sounds like confidence that’s building by the second.
Andre: I can feel it comin’, Coach. I felt it from the very start and as of last week, I know someone else who felt it too.
JC: Speaking about Nyeo Son I assume?
Andre: You want Kunta for the nitty gritty jus like Pryde wanted me on here, because ain’t nobody gonna get the point across and drive up the “must see” factor of this show like Mister Kunta, right? Nyeo saw what I was about when he set Kraus up to take Rodney’s Revenge, so while he did what anyone would do and dish out that assist to snag his own win, he also saw first hand what that elbow can do. It’s devastatin’ and I know that lil’ dude has to be f***in’ terrified right now.
Ya boi can tell the discomfort on JC’s face right now, but my mans has to be expectin’ it to head in my direction. It’s whatever though, I’ll pay the fines later wit’ the bonus I get from winning the belt.
Andre: We had each other’s win, ya dig? Everyone likes a lil’ bit of momentum and I wasn’t pickin’ up my first loss against a lil’ scrub like Krauss or some dude who I already proved that I’m better than. It was ours for the takin’ and that’s it. I ain’t tryna make friends wit’ da fruit loop muhf***er and we ain’t traded them verbal jabs yet, ‘cause I KNOW what’s ‘bout to happen on Monday. Ever since that match ended and I got to the back, my mind’s been all on gettin’ mine. Nyeo is someone standin’ in my way and I’m gonna be the one that has to bury him because of it.
JC: So then-
Andre: Gonna have to cut ya off real quick, bruh bruh. There’s somethin’ that needs to be said ‘bout Nyeo Son that I don’t feel I’ve really gotten to talk about yet. Ya see, I look at Nyeo and I see someone wit’ a lot of fear and a lot of doubt in they eyes. Some of that Imma give myself credit for, but there’s somethin’ inside dude that just ain’t right and it translates to the ring. Yeah, he got a lil’ bit of talent to him, but he’s steppin’ into a grown man’s world. This is a scared lil’ boi I’m talkin’ ‘bout. I don’t think he’s ready for it and given that he finna be steppin’ to me next, he’s ‘bout to be set back big time and I don’t see that career recoverin’ from it. I think he be steppin’ to my light and he’s gotta come face to face wit’ the final boss. The f***ed up part about it..for him..is that he ain’t get no real chance again. He don’t get to even go to another castle lookin’ for a princess or some s**t, cause Imma be at the finish line every single time pointin’ him back the way he came from.
JC: Right, now I think while we’re here, it’s also important that we get a word from you on your other opponent in Dark Spectre.
Andre: Let me tell ya first off that Dark Spectre ain’t nothin’ like ya boi at all. Yeah, I admit that he got a lil’ bit of wit to him, but it ain’t somethin’ anywhere near rivalin’ my own. Aside from that, there’s definitely some surface level mystery to’em though. It seems like the strat for ol’ dude has been to play it a bit more conservative. Say just enough to get a few viewers tuned in, show up for the fight, go home, and do it all over. It’d be one thing if everything he be doin’ was workin’ for him, but it really ain’t like that.
As for SickWaves Blackamura, I been that muhf*** who comes out and let’s everyone exactly what he’s about. I let it all out there and guess what, it translates into the kind’uh success that is turnin’ me into a main event player real quick. You know when you hear Kunta speak that the intention is the top and you also know damn well that Imma reach it at the end of the day. Now, homeboy can step up wit’ a few bullet points, but what is it that he’s really sayin’ and providin’ to the world? Ask ya’selves real quick, is it just about the words that’s bein’ said?
What ‘bout WHO is sayin’ the shit? That surface level confidence comin’ from Spectre, it don’t me s*** when he ain’t makin’ any sort of significant splash. He got a mouth on him, but them fists ain’t bringin’ consistent enough results for it to mean anything. When Spectre basically be splittin’ them wins and losses over competition that I’d steamroll, what does that tell you ‘bout his chances for PPV against Prince Lightskin? Three and zero with bookin’ designed to see how far I’ll take things, bookin’ designed to get me in the loss column..that’s the reason that I’m on Sportscenter while Spectre finna spend five minutes tryna overanalyze Andre Aquarius knowin’ full well that none of what he says matters and that I’m still gonna be the one who knocks his damn head off his shoulders.
JC: Andre, we’re just about out of time for this one. Before we go, are there any final words you’d like to share with the world?
Andre: I’m the first ever True Grit champion. Spectre, Nyeo, and whoever else wanna try convincin’ themselves otherwise...don’t. Resistin’ is only gonna make it worse.
